Hailing from the historic metal scene of the San Francisco Bay Area, Embrium merges the atmospheric texture of shoegaze with the fury of black metal into a sound that is both haunting and unrelenting.

Since their 2021 debut EP, which earned recognition from Metal Injection and landed on Apple Music's 'Breaking Metal' and 'Fresh Blood' playlists, the band has continued to build their profile in the blackgaze scene. Their full-length debut, Timekeeper, arrived March 14, 2025, the result of three years of creative exploration drawing on literary themes of time, loss, the dangers of magic, the struggle of life, and the search for self-identity.

Lead single 'Eclipse' was submitted for GRAMMY® consideration in Best Metal Performance and Best Music Video. The band followed the release with a West Coast tour and a live studio session at KEXP in Seattle, cementing their place as one of blackgaze's most compelling emerging acts.

Founded in 2019 by Paul Reed Smith Pulse Artist Mosahefu, Embrium consists of songwriter/guitarist Joey Menicucci, vocalist Jade Forsythe, drummer Matt Baird, and Ayani Hayashi on bass.
