Embrium Announces Latest Single from Timekeeper, “Hyperion”
Hailing from San Francisco’s dynamic metal scene, Embrium merges the atmospheric beauty of shoegaze with the intensity of black metal, creating a sound that is as hauntingly ethereal as it is visceral. Since their 2021 self-titled debut EP, which gained recognition from Metal Injection and Apple Music’s "Breaking Metal" and "Fresh Blood" playlists, the band has been carving out their place in the blackgaze genre. Their upcoming full-length album, Timekeeper, is the result of three years of creative exploration, drawing on literary themes of time, loss, the dangers of magic, the struggle of life, and the search for self-identity.
Crafted over three years and recorded at Fang Studios in San Mateo, California by Nick Loiacono, Timekeeper showcases the talent behind Embrium: Mosahefu: Guitars, vocals Jade Forsythe: Vocals Joey Menicucci: Guitars, vocals, bass Matt Baird: Drums Newly joined by Ayani Hayashi on bass to help bring Timekeeper to life
Featuring guest appearances by Ian Forsythe (Cyborg Octopus) on "Hyperion" and Kyle Schaefer (Fallujah, Archaeologist) on a cover of "Televators" by The Mars Volta.
ABOUT HYPERION: "Hyperion," Embrium's latest single, is a tribute to the legendary Thomas Börje Forsberg, also known as Quorthon of Bathory. The track also draws inspiration from Dan Simmons' epic science fiction series, the Hyperion Cantos.
HYPERION LYRICS:
This is the right of times divided
This is the shrike of all ignited
No one can hear you now
Within the heart of all that dies
Are you suffering?
For a man who promised you naught
Are you healing?
Within the chamber in which you rot
Choose again, choose again
This is not the end
This is not the end
Every moment is meant for so much more
Every ounce of hatred easy to ignore
When you look into the sun
You will hear Apollo’s song
